Last weekend, BSJFC teams competed in the annual Wetherby Athletic JFC Gala and enjoyed a really professionally-run and fun tournament.
The Saints were well represented by eight teams ranging from U12s to U9s and the standard of football on display was excellent throughout all age groups.
Six teams made it to the semis, three progressed to the finals, and two came away with silverware, with the U10 Girls lifting the Cup and U10 Blues scooping the Shield.

U12 Whites – finished fourth in their group, beat Killinghall Whites on penalties in the semi but lost on penalties to Easingwold in the final.
U11 Blues – finished level on points with fourth-place Killinghall Nomads.
U11 Whites – finished fifth, narrowly missing out on the semis.

U10 Blues - finished 3rd in their group, beat Clifford Rosso on penalties in the semi, then won the Shield in the final.
U10 Whites – lost in the semi of the Shield vs Knaresborough Celtic Greens.

U10 Girls - finished 3rd in their group, beat Eldwick 1-0 in the semi, then Wetherby Lionesses in the final on penalties to lift the cup.
U9 Blues - finished 2nd in their group but lost in the semi vs Chapeltown Juniors Amber.
U9 Whites – finished fourth in their group but lost in the semi vs Knaresborough Celtic Greens.
Well done to all the players, managers and coaches and also the legion of parents for their unwavering support. Plus, a huge thank you to Wetherby Athletic JFC for making everyone so welcome. We’re already looking forward to next season’s Gala.
