The Saints Mini teams have really grown into their game during the 2025/26 season. Our talented Managers and Coaches have been working hard building up players’ confidence, honing their skills and having great fun on and off the pitch. Here are the reviews we received from the teams’ amazing managers and coaches.
U9s
The U9s 2025/26 season consisted of 22 matches, with an overall record of 14 wins, 2 draws, and 6 losses across our squad. Across those 22 matches, the teams scored an impressive 180 goals. 35 players competed across three teams, including one team participating in an expansion-friendly league to provide additional development opportunities and playing time.
In addition to our league programme, we entered four tournaments, with teams reaching the semi-finals four times. The highlight of the season was winning the Europa Cup at the Harrogate Railway Tournament, a fantastic achievement that reflected the players' hard work, teamwork, and development throughout the year.

Robin Clarke, Manager, commented: "It's been a fantastic season, and the coaching team is incredibly proud of all the players. Every one of them has shown tremendous progress throughout the year, and they've been competitive in every game.
We've also been fortunate to have a fantastic group of supportive parents, who have cheered the team on from the sidelines in all weathers – often wrapped up in their Saints hats during the winter months!
There is healthy competition for places across the squad, which continues to drive the players to improve. Winning silverware at the Harrogate Railway Tournament was the cherry on top of a fantastic season and a fitting reward for all the hard work and commitment shown by the players and coaches. We're excited to see what the team can achieve as we make the step up to U10s. UTS ? "
U8s Blues & Whites
It’s been a superb season for the U8s with the kids having now been together for four seasons and having played 2 seasons of matches.
U9s Whites Coach, Mark Robinson, and the rest of the U9s coaching team have been delighted with their progress: “We continue to stay true to our ethos of having mixed-ability teams, which has allowed the players to really flourish.
We won more games than we lost throughout the season, which is really positive.
The highlight of the season must be winning three trophies in the Champions League at the Harrogate Railway Gala and Kirk Deighton Gala, along with the Europa League at Kirk Deighton, too.”

U7s Blues & Whites
The U7s have had a fantastic first season in the Harrogate and Wharfedale league. 32 children experienced playing competitive football for the first time, proudly wearing their Beckwithshaw Saints kit, which was kindly sponsored by Castle Clinic.
Manager Paul McGuigan reveals, “In November, the team were mascots and flagbearers for Harrogate Town's sell-out game against Oldham Athletic. They were cheered on by the supporters and enjoyed a half-time kickabout on the pitch. Another big highlight of the season was the Saints Gala Day.
Our Blues also successfully reached two finals in the end-of-year tournaments and continue to stay true to our inclusive ethos of having mixed-ability teams, which has allowed all players to flourish.
The children and parents will celebrate the end of a successful season with a weekend camping trip in July for some much-needed R&R!”

U6s
The U6s took part in their first-ever friendly match against Pannal Ash in June. The team represented the club brilliantly, showing tremendous enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship right through to the final whistle.
U6s coach, Martin Bone, has been so impressed with their progress. “The U6 team has developed massively in both technique and confidence over the past year. It has been fantastic to see every player improve, work hard and enjoy their football. Taking part in their first friendlies was a real milestone, and they were all brilliant. They should be extremely proud of what they have achieved this season.”

U5s
Our U5s have had a great season and have really come on this year.
Manager Matthew Walker was delighted with his new squad and how they’re shaping up. “Every player has given their best in training this year, and they played in their first tournament at the end of the season at Pannal Sports JFC. Some great team goals, awesome defending, and a great team spirit!
The U5s are definitely ready to play the new 3 vs 3 format next year!”
