END OF SEASON REVIEW 2025/26

We asked the incredibly busy and dedicated Managers and Coaches of our thriving Junior teams to provide us with a short review of their 2025/26 seasons. Here are the reviews we received…

U14s

Following promotion the previous season, the U14s competed in a higher division and successfully completed the season against stronger opposition, finishing 6th in an 8-team league.

The highlight of the season came at the Tadcaster 7-a-side Tournament, where the boys reached the Cup Final for the second consecutive year following last year’s tournament victory. Despite narrowly losing 1-0 in a closely contested final, the team performed superbly throughout the day and were worthy runners-up.

Manager Simon Williams is incredibly proud of his lads, “After promotion last season, we knew this year would be a significant step up in standard. Whilst results were sometimes tough, the boys never stopped working, learning and supporting each other. The character, resilience and commitment they showed throughout the season were excellent, and reaching another tournament final was a fitting reward for their efforts.

Whilst this season marks the end of an era for many of the boys who have played together for a number of years, we’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved together both on and off the pitch.

As we look ahead to 2026/27, we’re excited about the next chapter, with a refreshed squad and a number of new additions joining the group as the boys move into U15 football. We’d like to thank all players and parents for their commitment and support throughout the season.”

U13s Blues

The U13s Blues enjoyed a strong season in the A League after winning promotion two seasons ago.

The team really developed this season, after a relegation scrap the year before and are looking forward to building on this come September.

Manager, Martin Burke elaborated. “We finished 6th, right in the middle of the table battle and could have easily finished a few places higher.

We’ve been busy in the tournaments this season. We sent two teams to the Wigton Moor Tournament for the U13s Blues. Both topped their group and we played each other in the semi-final. We lost 1-0 in the final. Cracking afternoon. The Blues also reached the final of the Killinghall Tournament, but we were just pipped to the silverware by Pannal Sports.

As ever, the whole squad are a credit to the club, as are the parents of this group.

From my perspective, a big thanks to James, Andrew and Fernando on our coaching staff. A cultural hotbed of Aussie, Brazil and Harrogate.”

U13s Whites

The U13S Whites have had a very challenging season, switching up to 11-aside format and losing some of their better players who transitioned into the U13 Blues.

Manager Mark Robinson said “The highlight of the season was coming from behind in our final game of the season away to Grassington to end the season on a real high. The coaches are so proud of how the players have played and progressed whilst adapting to big changes.”

U12s Blues

It’s been a highly successful season for the U12s Blues team, finishing runners-up in the Harrogate & District B league, and best of all, gaining promotion next season to the A league.

Manager Matthew Davies “Whilst we were disappointed to drop points in the first half of the season, we then put together a barnstorming run of performances. This gave us the opportunity to finish second and gain promotion on the final day by beating the league winners, which we did convincingly! Next season will be challenging, but the team will be ready and raring to give it their best efforts!

We only had a small squad of just 11 players this season, so the lads were tremendous, putting in a real shift week in, week out. Each and every player contributed to our success. A special shout-out to our award winners, but well done to all, and let’s go again next season!”

U12s Whites

The U12s Whites had a solid season finishing 7th in the Harrogate Under 12 C league, just one point behind 6th.

Coach, John Berry has been so impressed with their progress. “We have had some brilliant performances where we have pushed the top teams in the league right to the end. This is while rotating a big squad and a lot of players relatively new to football.

We have improved massively during the season and with some more hard work over the summer, I hope we are challenging higher up the league next year.”
